I’m a proactive photographer, website designer and hosting provider living in Helston, Cornwall. I was often told in school that photography, website design and social media wouldn’t get me far in the world, and encouraged to do something else. I thankfully didn’t listen to that ‘advice’ and as soon as I left school, I set up my own market stall in town selling photographs and working as a freelance photographer.

Not long after, I was offered an apprenticeship doing social media management and website design for a local design agency. In my spare time, I continued my passion for photography – becoming the official photographer for Helstonbury Music Festival.

January 2019, I was made redundant and became self-employed. That wasn’t enough, so I applied to Falmouth University to study Marine and Natural History Photography BA(Hons). It’s a three year course based at the Penryn campus.

I scaled down my website design side of things for now, continuing the website hosting and photography – but I’ve got a part-time job at a local holiday park doing bar work. This allows me to focus on my studies without having to worry about invoices getting paid.
